Knitting Kept Seniors Busy During COVID
Our Senior Friendship program serves as a conduit for talented seniors to knit and sew. In the last year, we have collected a large quantity of knitted caps and scarves to be distributed to the homeless and other individuals in need.

Cathy Holmes, Reaching Out Committee member, oversees the pickup of household starter supplies to partner agency, Sacramento Steps Forward, a local agency that coordinates housing and services for homeless families and individuals in Sacramento.

Second Set of Backpacks for Homeless
The Reaching Out Committee packed the second order of backpacks for the County of Sacramento. The backpacks will be distributed, as part of the Encampment Team (ET) pilot, which pairs a Senior Mental Health Counselor with a housing navigator to connect people in a homeless encampment to housing, shelter and key services.

A Fresh Start for Foster Youth
E.A. Family Services took delivery of 30 apartment starter kits for homeless youth that are transitioning to independent living. Image packing 30 vacuum cleaners and 30 baskets filled with the basic needed to set up a home.
